Lice Hits the House of Chaos!

After 3 infestations of Heather's classmates and us being lucky enough to avoid it, we headcheck to find the horror that is in fact head lice.  Eric and I had been religiously checking both kids 3 times a day after the third infestation.  Around 9:30 pm on a Saturday night Eric announces - we have a situation here......I promptly send him to the store to buy any lice ridding item that is available and swing into action.  Both kids were forced to sit in the bathtub with mini DVD players and watch movies since it was the only room without carpeting.  Pillows were bagged, carpets were thrown on the back deck, the new vacuum swung into action!  By the time Eric got back the situation had been mostly contained and there was a giant pile of clothes in the kitchen that would be washed in hot water baths.  The dishwasher served as an alternative for hats, hairclips, brushes, etc.  The hot water heater couldn't keep up!

Egg Hunt #4 was at Nanas -

There's no documentation of the hunt because they did the dash while Mama was unpacking the car. They ended up with 6 easter baskets from various folks there for Easter dinner.

Trevor also shared the following with me about Easter: One, the Easter Bunny does not go to China. Because they come out of their houses and hit them with brooms (this was apparently learned via a movie Hop that I guess I should watch and see why this is the case). Two, the Easter Bunny is really a man who runs around the world in a rabbit suit and drops eggs for everyone because he is crazy. I wasn't sure how to respond to either comment. HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!!

Easter at Chaos! Egg Hunt 3 of 4.

Egg Hunt 2 of 4 - Petting Zoo

Our season passes granted us free access to the Reston Zoo's hunt. A couple of kids got trampled. It was packed! Heather and Trevor got several eggs each and were quite pleased with their egg ratio.

Egg Hunt 1 of 4

Went to an Easter egg hunt at Patricks - had a great time!

Egg Dying on Good Friday

Grandma and Grandpa Judy and Don sent the kiddos a cookie decorating kit for Easter so we dyed eggs and decorated cookies.

Day Four - Fishing at Lake Accotink

I decided to take the kiddos to my old fishing hole behind Mom and Dad's house. It was still quite the spot! Caught about 10-15 sunnies, a large mouth bass and had a bass so big it stripped the entire pole. Every time we dropped the line in the water we got a bit. Kids were quite happy and we learned the true lesson - there's no place like home!
