The 12 Days of Christmas

Eric relayed me this story and I thought I should document it so I don't forget!  They were all riding in the car and the 12 days of Christmas came on.  Heather and Trevor were singing away.  Heather then pauses and says the following:

H: why would anyone put a bird in their pantry?!
E: what are you talking about?
H: the partridge.
E: what about the partridge?
H: the partridge is in the pantry.  Why is a bird in your pantry?  Who would put a bird in the pantry?!
E: PEAR TREE.
H: OHH - that makes more sense!  What about the french hens.
T: They are from France Heather - DUH
E: No they are a type of birds.
H: Do they speak French?
E: No.
H: This song makes no sense.

Its Christmas Time at the House of Chaos - Everyone is Merry!

We've started our cookie making blitz - expect treats in the mail!  Happy holiday's everyone!

Fishing at Lake Anna in November - its never too cold to fish!

Thanksgiving was a Hit. Trevor Likes Turkey!

Swim Class Every Saturday

Heather is in level 5.  Trevor is in pee wee level 2 and has had to repeat it a few times but is finally being promoted to level 3.  I've actually been pretty pleased with him in level 2 because he has been so busy making friends and reaching out the the new boys and that is quite a milestone for him.  The socialization therapy is finally kicking in and he is breaking out of his shell and emerging as an independent little boy!  I think its also helped that I don't allow either kid to be at the other's swim class so he's forced to engage somewhere else other then what his sister is doing. We are going to have Heather repeat level 5 so she builds up her stamina.  She can backstroke, butterfly, etc.  She just wears out quickly and there are a lot of bigger kids in her class and they tend of mow her over in the lanes.

Helping Mama Work the Polls on Election Day!

I volunteered for the Virginia Republican Party and handed out Romney/Ryan sample ballots.  The kids got to join me for a bit and were so excited to help.  It was nice to have them there - our district is heavy on the Ds and they couldn't yell at two cuties asking them to take their paper!

Trick or Treating at Nanas with our Pals

Continued the tradition of trick or treating with the Ismails.  Our cousin Madeline joined us this year.  Heather was a movie star, Trevor was a ninja - our first fish free costume....so I thought.  The ninja sword turned out to have a Koi fish on it so Trevor felt like his karma was restored!  The twins were George Washington and Cat in the Hat and Madeline was an owl.  Heather wanted to go to far more houses then everyone else, but perhaps next year!

Survived Hurricane Sandy and here's some photos of the kids roughing it.

We survived the storm with only a few dents in our roof vent - Heather was quite scared by the storm.  Trevor kept asking to go outside.  The dog was not a fan of the storm either.  We lost power at 6:30 p.m. but had it back around 1:00 a.m. so no real complaints.  When it was bedtime the wind was so loud the kids were too scared to sleep so I pulled out our battery fans from the summer power outage and used those as noise machines which worked quite nicely!

Trevor is Now 6 Years Old!

Everyone inside the cyclone machine - Dad's hair did not move even at 80 MPH!

Trevor is obsessed with two things: fish and skylanders.  He was SO excited to open these he
had to do it in the car and play as soon as he got home.

Trevor wanted to have a "real" party like his sister with a moonbounce.  With the uncertainties of weather, we decided to have it at a moonbounce park called "Pump It Up".  Trevor and the kiddos had a great time.  As you can see at the end of the day he was wiped out sleeping on his fish pillow with his Skylanders next to him.

Trevor Got To Bring Home the Class Hamster Snookums

He was in charge of taking care of it over the weekend - there was many a battle over who got to hold Snookums and Trevor would sometimes not grant Heather "permission" to hold her because "its MY class pet Sissy!"

Trevor Still Loves to Fish - Even When He's Practicing!

Also This weekend Prior to Incident...

We went to Farm Day in Falls Church - there was a petting zoo, pumpkin painting, a horse drawn hay ride - it was a bit ghetto and packed but Heather and Trevor were satisfied.
