Heather's Strings Concert

Heather is on the far left - the teacher made her move a few times so unfortunately it was tough to see her but she did a great job on the violin!

Visited the Petting Zoo Since We Couldn't Swim.

Trevor is doing much better so we took him to the zoo for a little outing since I wasn't ready to let him back into the water and risk a relapse.  The weather was lovely and they really enjoyed it since they haven't been in a while!

Its Always Something at Chaos....

Trevor woke up not looking right this morning so off to the doctor we went.  Pneumonia.  Looks like Eric and I are home this week!  Poor little bug!

Here is Footage of Our Racing. Go Zoo Crew!

Cute Pic of Trevor

Photos from the Boat Race.

We placed second in our heat.  We entered the survivor category at the end (which is whatever survived the water) and placed fourth out of 8 boats.  Next year we make it lighter!

We've Been Building a Boat....Out of Cardboard.

This is our second year competing in the Lake Accotink Cardboard Regatta.  This year we started with a Jacuzzi box with a hole in the bottom.  Five layers of cardboard later, we had ourselves a boat!

We Have a Pool Membership and Have Been Taking Advantage of It!

The bonus is that the pool has been practically empty for the most part so the kids have it to themselves!  Also, you have to take a swim test this year to get into the deep end - Heather finally took it and now gets to jump off the diving board.

We Got to Be VIPs at the National Zoo!

I was lucky enough to be invited to the zoo for congressional day.  Having no idea what was in store for us, we headed out on an overcast day complete with raincoats, umbrellas and even water shoes just in case!  We arrived to find that part of the zoo was closed off and we were allowed access.  There were demonstrations, cotton candy, brownies, popcorn.....HEAVEN for too little children.  We came up to the first station - brownies!  Heather helped herself.  Trevor passed and sulked - he wanted Dibs.  Dibs.  Dibs.  I explained he wasn't getting dibs.  We walked up to the next station. Soda! I asked if he wanted a tiny bit because that's one of his special treats.  Nope.  Dibs. Dibs. Dibs.  I then said well I guess you will be miserable then.  I looked up and spotted something special.  Trevor.....I said - LOOK.  Trevor looks and starts sprinting!  COTTTTTTONCANNNNNDDDDYYYY.  Thus the picture below explains the outcome.

Even in the opened sections of the zoo it was completely empty due to the showers here and there - the kids were ecstatic to have the zoo to themselves!

They got to meet Chomper the Beaver who is nocturnal but was lured out with treats.

Free carousel rides!

Of course Heather picks the naked mole rat of all the animals to ride.

We got to watch the otters get goldfish out of the water bottle.  Trevor enjoyed this part until they started eating them.
