National Slurpee Day - No Explanation Needed!

A Leftover from Heather's School Year - Graduation Lunch.

I volunteered to be a chaperon at the class lunch which commenced at the Old Country Buffet.  The parent chaperons had to drive the kids there and then staff them during lunch. The kids were filling their plates over and over again.  I warned Heather not to eat too much chocolate (still convinced she has a chocolate allergy) and sure enough she was the one that had to vomit in the bathroom.  The funny thing is she was so proud that she made it to the bathroom because as most of you know she never makes it.  Sigh.  Here is a small sample of the 6th graders outside the restaurant.

Water Sled Still Exists!

Can't ever say I don't get my money's worth when I buy something big!  Peyton came over and a water war commenced.  Some children were visiting down the street and I told them to join.  The little boy with the water cap was from Europe.  Trevor did not understand his outfit at all!

Congressional Day at the National Archives.

Once again one more perk of mommy's job. We went on a twitter scavenger hunt and placed third.  They won magnets, keychains and chocolates.  Heather got to see the Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence.  She is really into history so she enjoyed it immensely.  Then they found the "selfie station".  Heather really got into it.  Trevor was constantly photobombing Heather's opportunities and we were all laughing so hard.  I think the lady there thought we were crazy.

We've Had Many Pool Days this Summer

Trevor's friend Peyton has joined us on many playdates this year.  He also was kind enough to take Trevor to the Baltimore Aquarium one day during the summer.

On this day it started pouring and the kids thought it was the greatest thing ever.  They just danced and danced in the rain and we laughed.  They were allowed to be in the pool until it rained so hard the lifeguards couldn't see the bottom and made them come out.  So they danced!

We Went to Ocean City with Our Cousin.

The beach was lots of fun.  Of course with all the shark sightings this year Eric was extremely nervous about our going.  I assured him sharks aren't at Ocean City based on all the facts the local news have been spewing.....then day before a freaking hammerhead is spotted in Ocean City.  My cousin informed me once we arrived that it was right where we were and all the police and helicopters had been swarming the beach.  I watched the water like a hawk and sure enough something appeared right behind the kids.  I ripped them out of the water so fast the lifeguard was impressed.  We found out on twitter about 45 minutes later that the shark was back and thus I suspect it was the shark!  We also went putt-putting and to an arcade where Trevor won over 700 tickets with his mad gaming skills.  We left the beach with two lizards to add to Chaos so we are up to a dog, a cat, a guinea pig, 4-5 hermit crabs, a fish and two lizards.  I did always want to be a vet.....

Our Little Girl Has Graduated!

Heather handpicked this dress from 4-5 stores.  She then decided to add the ribbon belt.  She loved the orchids in her hair and was so proud.  She is wearing my shoes!  She is almost as tall as me and the same shoe size as I am.

The SCA President's speech. She did a great job!

With her best friend Samantha.

Heather won so many awards!  Outstanding art student, SCA president and a special pin came with that, Principals Art Award, a mentoring award and finally the President's Award for Educational Excellence.  I kept it together until she won that one and then started sobbing like a baby.  She also opened the ceremony with singing the Star Spangled Banner.  It was the Heather show that day!

Heathers Last String Concert.

Volunteered for Heather's Class Field Trip to the Edge.

Once I got the kids in my group to put their dang phones away the field trip was a pleasure!  They learned team building skills.

Wacky Wednesday at School.

Trevor was Practicing Bowling this Year.

Halloween!

Some of these posts are a little out of order.  For Halloween Heather decided to be a fox and wanted me to make the vest and tail.  Trevor was a skylander.  He invited one of his school friends and we also had a few other bunches of friends so it was the largest trick or treat party we've ever had!

Hiding in the Trees During a Hike

Trevor never ceases to not make me laugh!

We did the Boat Race Again This Year.

This year we decided to experiment and go "light and fast".  It was a mitigated failure and we sunk like stones.  However, we had such fun it was fine.  That day was over 100 degrees and we were so hot we were happy to take a swim by the time it was our turn to try!

The face is priceless.
